Strip out of the Arcade is now complete and the architects BDP, are due to finish the design work in mid April. Having gained approval for £600,000 from the Getting Building Fund, the Council are trying to complete the financial package by seeking £1m for the Arcade within the Town Fund plan. We hope to hear about that over the summer before tendering the refurbishment work in the Autumn.
Meantime, business planning goes on and the plan requesting ‘preferred bidder status’ for our community group should be submitted in May.
The virtual launch of the of the group in February was a great success, producing 800 Facebook likes, 150 subscribers to the Newsletter and most important, 18 expressions of interest in the shops within two weeks.
