ARCADE PROGRESS
- Final touches are being put to the designs prior to submitting for planning permission – thinking about the Arcade gates (we hope to have some public input on that – image is a starting point), making the shops accessible, detailing the fit out etc. Tenders should be out in October with a view to starting the refurbishment work in February (work finishes end ’22)
- Council officers on the Town Project Board have agreed to enter discussions with our group on the Heads of Terms for the lease on the Arcade. On the back of that the aim is to go to Council Cabinet for a decision on making us the preferred bidder in September / October
- Once achieved we will register as a Community Benefit Society and look to having a community share issue early next year that will make you the owners
- We continue to welcome expressions of interest from potential tenants – 25 have now come forward. Do get in touch if you’re interested in a unit
