LOTTERY DECISION IN JUNE
The Arcade Group has worked with the Council to submit the 100+ documents to the Heritage Fund for the Stage II bid for £4m. We hope we’ve done enough. Everything rides on the result and we’ll hear back in mid June.
Plans are in place to start refurbishment this October with a view to opening October ’24.
Meanwhile….
We’re in discussions with the new owners of the Princess of Wales shopping centre about using the old WH Smiths for 15 months for all sorts of town centre activity and enterprise in the lead up to the opening of the Arcade – one off markets, meeting area, exhibitions, talks, pop up retail etc. If we get the go-ahead, we’ll want to hear from people wanting to do stuff.
