March 22. Steady progress.
Arcade Group – Dewsbury Ltd registered as a community benefit society with above Board members (L to R – Yunus Patel, Ralph Pickering, Mohamed Myat, Sarah Barnes, Chris Hill, Anis Dadu, Peter Mason, Natalie Liddle).
10 year lease from Council agreed subject to performance criteria (successful community share issue, pre-lets etc)
Planning permission received and most funding in place. Big one is a £2.3m bid to Heritage Lottery. Stage 1 decision due June 22, with the hope that Stage 2 (construction grant) can be approved in December. The Group is hopeful of recruiting its first part time heritage worker in July if the bid is successful. They will help pull together a social and image history of the Arcade and involve more people in our work.
Building work should start early ’23 with completion at the end of the year.
